Executive Management Team

Kevin Hickey, Chief Executive Officer

Kevin has a strong history of sales and marketing leadership, as well as expertise in software operations, strategy, fundraising, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining eEye, Kevin was CEO of NetPro Computing, where he helped grow the business before concluding its very successful sale to Quest Software. Kevin has also served as the president and CEO of Homebid.com, where he secured funding and eventually sold the business to industry leader HomeStore.com. During his seven years as president and COO at Viasoft Inc., Kevin led the company through a successful initial public offering prior to its sale. Kevin started his IT career at IBM, serving in several key marketing and executive business management roles.

Bryce Hancock, Chief Financial Officer

Bryce brings over 13 years of executive operational experience to eEye, which includes management of financial, accounting, human resources, risk management, and strategic planning and analysis, with both domestic and international entities. Bryce joined eEye in 2009 as the Vice President of Finance. Prior to eEye, Bryce served as Director of Finance at NetPro, where he was responsible for accounting and assisted with financial and human resource matters. He was also intricately involved in the due diligence process leading to NetPro’s successful sale to Quest Software. Previously, Bryce spent nine years at KPMG in its Assurance Practice, working with clientele ranging from private companies to publicly held global enterprises across many industries.

Marc Maiffret, Chief Technology Officer

Marc Maiffret co-founded eEye Digital Security in 1998 and returned to the company in July 2010 as Chief Technology Officer. Marc is an industry expert in network security and has accepted three separate invitations to testify before the United States Congress on matters of national cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection. Marc famously discovered the first Microsoft computer worm, “CodeRed” and was named one of People Magazine’s 30 People Under 30. He has been featured for cover stories in Details, the Los Angeles Times, Entrepreneur, Inc, and USA Today in addition to numerous television appearances. Prior to returning to eEye, Marc was serving as Chief Security Architect at FireEye.

Brad Hibbert, Vice President, Products and Strategy

With nearly 20 years of experience in product management, Brad leads eEye’s solution strategy. Prior to joining eEye, Brad served as Vice President of Strategy and Products at NetPro, helping define corporate direction and transition the organization into a strategic partner for enterprise customers. Formerly, at FastLane Technologies, which was sold to Quest Software in 2001, Brad worked extensively with key Microsoft business units on product direction and go-to-market strategies. Over the course of his career, Brad has held a variety of management, consulting, and IT analyst positions for both commercial and government organizations.

Brendan Evers, Vice President, Worldwide Sales

Brendan Evers is the Vice President of Worldwide Sales at eEye Digital Security where he is directly responsible for the company’s enterprise revenue generation and growth, including strategic vertical markets across the world. Brendan joined eEye in 2003 and has since held numerous sales management positions including both inside and field sales. Brendan has significantly driven incremental revenue helping the company establish a stronghold within specific markets and top accounts while securing some of the largest contracts in the company’s history. Prior to joining eEye, Brendan spent eight years at CA (formerly Computer Associates), where he held several senior sales management roles in both Channel and Direct sales. Brendan holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York, Albany.

Mike Puterbaugh, Vice President, Marketing

As Vice President of Marketing, Mike is responsible for leading key marketing initiatives that support the continued growth and technology leadership at eEye. Mike returned to eEye in 2011 after leading the marketing organizations at successful exits at Stratavia (acquired by HP) and ColdSpark (acquired by BakBone). He also was part of the team that took MindTouch from an open source pioneer to a leader in the hyper-competitive social business software space. Prior to his first experience at eEye, Mike also held senior marketing positions at Quest Software, Mercury Interactive and Intel Corporation.

Tyler Hanson, Business Development, Strategic Advisor

Tyler brings nearly 20 years of executive experience in the management of financial, legal and human resources operations, risk management, and strategic planning and analysis. Over his career, he has led multiple mergers and acquisitions, and has raised approximately $50 million in equity and debt financings. Before joining eEye, Tyler was CFO of NetPro, where he was responsible for all financial and legal matters leading to NetPro’s sale to Quest Software. Tyler also served as CFO at both Apriva and Homebid.com, and spent six years at KPMG in its Assurance Practice.

Kate Kawalek, Vice President, Operations & Development

Kate Kawalek joined the eEye Digital Security team in March 2006 as Director of Engineering Operations and was elevated to VP of Engineering in 2007. She has been the champion of new product development and instrumental in the rollout of the Agile Software Development Process across all Engineering, Customer Support, Quality Assurance and Field Engineering teams. Prior to joining eEye, Kate was R&D Manager for QSC Audio Products, a world leader in professional audio manufacturing. During her 12 year tenure with QSC, Kate held various roles, cumulating with the ultimate responsibility of leading a dynamic team of hardware, firmware and software engineers. She has over 15 highly successful years directing both hardware and software based product life cycles. Kate graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Most recently, in 2007 she was certified as an Agile Scrum Master and Product Owner.

Chris Silva, Chief Architect

Chris serves as eEye's Chief Architect. In this role, he is responsible for the development strategy and vision of the eEye portfolio which includes the award-winning Retina and Blink product families. Chris has over 15 years of experience in building and leading successful engineering teams. Since joining eEye in 2001, he has held a variety of engineering leadership positions, including product development lead, product manager and software architect. In doing so, he has helped transform eEye's research and development department and product line into industry leaders. Prior to eEye, Chris worked on and led engineering teams at Berkeley Systems, Inc. where he contributed to the acclaimed titles After Dark and You Don't Know Jack. Chris is an alumnus of the University of California, Berkeley's College of Engineering.

Jason Finney, Vice President, Western Region Sales

Jason brings almost 20 years of sales leadership to the eEye management team, including general management, marketing, and product development experience. Jason is an expert at building strong customer-focused sales organizations, driving operational excellence, and executing aggressive revenue growth. Prior to joining eEye, Jason served as VP & GM of Kaseya, where he was responsible for US sales, marketing, and US P&L. Previously, Jason spent 12 years at Quest Software holding numerous leadership roles including GM, System Center Division and Director, Big Brother Division, in both roles he launched successful start-up divisions that achieved record revenue growth. Earlier in his career, he held sales leadership positions at NetPro (now Quest Software), Identify Software (now BMC), and MGV Memory, receiving numerous management and sales achievement awards and distinctions.

Tom Owens, Vice President, Channel & International Sales

Tom brings more than 20 years of experience cultivating and motivating sales teams, driving incremental revenue, and building strong alliances with customers and partners. Prior to joining eEye, Tom was responsible for mid-market sales at NetPro, where he increased revenue per head by 18% in one year, which was fundamental in driving the company towards a successful sale to Quest Software. Previously, Tom launched and managed the channel sales division at SolarWinds, where he consistently grew worldwide year-over-year sales and expanded the number of US resellers by 50%. Earlier in his career, he held senior sales positions at Red Hat, Scansoft (now Nuance Communications), and McAfee, receiving numerous management and sales achievement distinctions, including Red Hat's Management Attainment Award.
