eEye Digital Security's Iris Wins W2Knews Target Award for Best Network Traffic Monitor

(ALISO VIEJO, CA) Oct. 1, 2001 — eEye Digital Security's Iris was named by W2Knews (www.w2knews.com) as the best Network Traffic Monitor. The Target Awards are a yearly tradition for Sunbelt Software and are highly regarded in the Windows NT/2000 Utility business sector. Ceremonies this year were held at the Microsoft Exchange & Collaboration Solutions Conference on October 1, 2001 in Orlando, Florida.

When asked how the Target Awards came to be, Stu Sjowerman, President of Sunbelt Software, said "...in the eighties, there was something similar for Digital's VMS space by a magazine called Digital Review. It was always a great and fun battle between the third party tools vendors and proudly promoted when won. We decided to pick up that tradition in the [Windows] NT-2000 space."

As stated on the Sunbelt Software (www.Sunbelt-Software.com) web site "the number of votes for Year 2001's Target Awards was again larger than the year before. Almost 2,000 NT/W2K Administrators, MIS Managers, and IT pro's from around the world indicated their preferences. Each product (or service) was judged on three different criteria to select a winner in each category: Price, Features and Overall Quality."

Iris (www.eEye.com/Iris) is an advanced data and network traffic analyzer that collects, stores, organizes and reports on all data traffic on your network. Iris is revolutionary because it delivers never-before-available functionalities that make network administration easier than ever. Iris is the first network traffic analyzer on the market, ingeniously designed to help IT personnel proactively monitor their organization's network. Unlike other network analyzers, Iris has advanced, integrated technology that allows it to reconstruct network traffic, all with a push of a button.

Using Iris, the network administrator can set up automated screens to monitor the web-browsing patterns of their organization's personnel to determine if company security or intellectual property is being compromised. The confidence Iris instills in an organization's network security will ultimately lead to decreased network down-time and increased IT focus.

eEye’s SecureIIS™ - Application Firewall and Retina® - Network Security Scanner were also finalists in their respective categories. Results for the entire W2Knews Target Awards can be found at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/targetawards/2001/2001.htm.
