(ALISO VIEJO, CA) November 22, 2002 — Gilian Technologies, makers of web application security appliances, and eEye Digital Security, provider of network security products, today announced a strategic partnership to join their technologies onto the Gilian G-Server. The two companies are working on a joint intrusion protection solution that will integrate eEye’s Retina vulnerability assessment solution with Gilian’s G-Server, a leading application integrity and content protection appliance.
Gilian’s G-Server ensures that every bit of data that leaves a web server destined for public view, is correct. This protection, which even extends to constantly changing dynamic content, automatically stops corrupted transactions and prevents the wrong information from reaching investors, prospects, customers, and suppliers.
As a result of the collaboration with eEye, the G-Server platform will enable both proactive, scheduled scanning and reactive intrusion tracing. Using Retina, which is widely recognized as the leading vulnerability assessment solution in terms of speed, ease of use, reporting, non-intrusiveness and advanced scanning capabilities, the G-Server console can be used to pinpoint potential weaknesses and provide remedies to safeguard networks. In addition to regular or on-demand proactive scanning, the G-Server console can also be used to invoke Retina in the event of a breach of web security, to provide information on where that breach may be.

eEye’s Retina can scan every machine on a network, including a variety of operating systems, networked devices and third-party or custom applications. After scanning, Retina delivers a comprehensive report that details all vulnerabilities and suggests appropriate fixes such as downloading related patches or using Retina’s automatic repair capabilities.
