SecureIIS Web Server Protection Stops Zero-Day Attacks on Microsoft Web Servers

Unknown attack impacting web servers averted by eEye’s proactive technology.

(ALISO VIEJO, CA) March 19, 2003 — eEye Digital Security has announced that recent zero-day WebDAV attacks impacting US military web servers are completely stopped by SecureIIS Web Server Protection. SecureIIS operates within Microsoft® Internet Information Services (IIS) architecture to actively inspect all incoming and outgoing web server traffic and prevent intrusion.

“While over 100 Microsoft engineers worked around the clock this past weekend to develop an emergency fix for the situation, all of eEye’s SecureIIS customers were protected long before the zero-day was detected,” said Firas Raouf, COO of eEye Digital Security. “SecureIIS was designed to provide security for Microsoft servers and guard against both known and unknown attacks without relying on continual product updates to detect and avert attack attempts.”

SecureIIS is the only product that integrates with IIS to truly protect customers with web servers using Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, or Windows XP. Because of eEye's extensive knowledge of the many ways in which IIS servers can be attacked or compromised, SecureIIS has advanced intrusion prevention technology that enables it to completely safeguard IIS servers from malicious hacker attacks.
