Expert Forum Helps Organizations Further Understand New Vulnerabilities and the Impact on Enterprise Network Security
(ALISO VIEJO, CA) February 9, 2004 eEye® Digital Security, a leading provider of network security software, today announced a monthly Vulnerability Expert Forum webinar to take place on the second Wednesday of each month. This is a public service open to all interested in furthering their understanding of network security. The Vulnerability Expert Forums will facilitate discussions with eEye's Research Team, headed by Marc Maiffret, eEye’s Chief Hacking Officer. Through this open forum, the impact of high-risk vulnerabilities and exploits on network environments and infrastructures will be explored. The eEye Research Team will provide in-depth knowledge of these issues and recommend detection and protection strategies.
“The eEye Research Team has always been regarded as the preeminent expert in the discovery and understanding of critical vulnerabilities”, said Peter Ghostine, CTO at Emergent Online, based in Reston, Virginia. “The Vulnerability Expert Forum is an outstanding way to leverage that knowledge in a day when the time between vulnerability discovery and exploitation is shrinking at an alarming rate.”
In addition to discussing recently announced vulnerabilities, eEye’s Research Team will open the floor to peer collaboration and forthright discussions of the patch effectiveness, roll-out approaches and network security in general.
“Many organizations have come to rely on eEye for top quality vulnerability research and advice,” said Marc Maiffret at eEye Digital Security. “It is our goal to keep organizations abreast of network security issues, especially those that impact their business.”
In order to keep our security network community well informed on the latest vulnerability research developments, eEye’s Research team has made available a list of pending vulnerabilities. The list does not detail the exact nature of the flaw but rather sheds new light on the amount of dangerous vulnerabilities that are still outstanding. eEye’s Research team will continue to work with various platform vendors to patch vulnerable systems as quickly as possible to help better secure the computing world.
