Iris ® 5.0 Delivers Unsurpassed Network Analysis for Fast and Accurate Incident Resolution
(ALISO VIEJO, CA) June 24, 2005 (ALISO VIEJO, CA) June 24, 2005 — eEye Digital Security®, a leading developer of network security software which enables businesses to protect and manage their network infrastructure, today announced the introduction of version 5.0 of the Iris® Network Traffic Analyzer. Iris 5.0 is the latest edition of the eEye’s award-winning solution for network traffic management, including protocol decoding, packet reconstruction and the comprehensive reporting of traffic activity.
"This new release continues to demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach to vulnerability management, which has resulted in thousands of customer deployments of Iris around the globe," stated Firas Raouf, eEye's COO. "By employing the industry's most capable network vulnerability research team, eEye is in the best possible position to parlay this expertise and knowledge into the industry's most advanced network security software. The introduction of Iris 5.0 further demonstrates this capability."
Iris captures network traffic and can automatically reassemble it to its native format, making it much easier to analyze as data moves across the network. Security and IT professionals can read the actual text of an email exactly as it was sent, reconstruct the exact HTML pages that a user has visited, or even monitor Web-based email traffic and instant messages. Iris also provides a variety of statistical measurements allowing companies to proactively identify — and take the steps to eliminate — performance issues before they can result in downtime.
New Features for Iris 5.0
Iris’ Traffic Capture Engine has been implemented to now run as a service, allowing security professionals to gather forensic information while performing other tasks in parallel. This approach ensures that all targeted traffic is captured, regardless of whether the user is logged in to the actual Iris application or not.
Additionally, Iris’ new, intuitive user increases usability and should provide instant ROI by minimizing training requirements. Users of other eEye solutions such as Retina® and Blink® should be able to quickly navigate within Iris upon installation.
These new features, as well as an improved installation methodology, support for Windows 2003 and enhanced collection methods are available now. More information can be found at www.eeye.com/iris .
Iris version 5.0 is generally available and has a list price of $1,295. For more information, please contact eEye Digital Security (sales@eeye.com) or an authorized reseller.
