eEye Rated “Positive” by Gartner in a MarketScope for Vulnerability Assessment
(Irvine, CA) July 21, 2008 — eEye Digital Security (www.eeye.com), a provider of integrated security and threat management solutions, today announced it has been rated a “Positive” in a report published by leading industry analyst firm Gartner, Inc. The Gartner "MarketScope for Vulnerability Assessment" was authored by Kelly Kavanagh, Mark Nicolett, and John Pescatore and published May 23, 2008.
The Vulnerability Assessment (VA) market generated revenues of $200 million last year and is expected to climb to $240 million this year.
According to the report, “VA is an essential component of an effective security program. VA initially provides discovery and security baseline data, and periodic rescanning provides updated data for vulnerability management, trending and compliance reporting. VA tools provide a bottom-up security baseline for the IT environment from a database of known vulnerabilities.”
